SKM Stainless offers maintenance services for stainless steel assemblies, as well as for industrial equipment and parts made out of carbon steel at construction sites.
Large cisterns and other site-built tanks and process equipment
When the products are very large or when the installation conditions are such that it is not possible to transport the product or install it as a complete unit, the products are delivered to the installation site as prefabricated products. The dimensions and structures of the prefabs are optimized according to the installation site, considering quality, work safety and cost aspects. When the installation conditions are tight, very small products may have to be installed together at the site.
In Finland, it is generally possible to transport around ø6.5-ø8.5m products, depending on the destination, by special transport along the roads. Products larger than these are usually built in place at construction sites, e.g. large storage tanks, silos, pulp towers, thickeners and flue gas scrubbers. The largest on-site assembled products delivered as total delivery by SKM Stainless Oy have been about 5,000m3 in volume and 165,000kg in weight
Piping contracting
We carry out industrial pipe installations both in new sites and in service- and maintenance sites. Thanks to efficient prefabrication, we are often able to achieve a prefabrication rate of up to 70% in industrial piping projects. With the help of a high degree of pre-fabrication, we can significantly improve work safety, delivery speed and reduce costs compared to traditional, extensive on-site manufacturing
Annual maintenace and shutdowns
We carry out annual industrial maintenance and other maintenance work during shutdowns in Finland and the Nordic countries. We offer a professional and motivated work group for both small and large jobs. Typically, we supply project management, supervisors, necessary installation and welding workforce as well as support staff such as fire guards, hole watchers and logistics as a whole. Regardless of whether the need is large or small, we deliver just the right kind of work group to effectively execute the project
At annual maintenance and shutdown works, we offer both fixed-price contracts and work based on hourly charges. In many cases, the whole is a combination of fixed- price prefabrication and sitework based on hourly rates.
Boiler plants
We offer servicing, maintenance and alteration work for boiler plants regardless of material. Aside from stainless steel, typical materials are P235GH, 16Mo3 and high temperature structural steels of types 13CrMo45 and 10CrMo9-10. Typical products include economizers, air preheaters, superheaters and membrane walls.
Service and maintenance
Aside from annual repairs and maintenance outages we also provide continuous industrial maintenance and service for our contractual partners. We can also be called in for sudden maintenance needs as they occur. Our experienced maintenance team is ready to respond.
